The history of RAS Asset Management dates back to 1970 when RAS, pre-empting the future evolving dynamics between the insurance and financial sectors, launched the first Luxembourg domiciled mutual fund, "Tre R."
In 1984, the first Italian domiciled open-ended investment fund "Fondo Gestiras," today known as "RAS Obbligazionario," was opened.
With the implementation of the new Financial Consolidation Act in 1998, the creation of asset management companies as a new legal entity became possible, and "Società di Gestione del Risparmio," the mutual fund management company, was transformed into RAS Asset Management SGR, a multi-line company for both retail and institutional clients.
At the end of December 2003 total Assets Under Management equalled Euro 26.3 billion. Within the Italian market, RAS Asset Management is characterized by a strong degree of innovation, and a broad range of products serving retail and private clients as well as pension funds, banking foundations, insurance companies and other institutional investors.
